People live their lives bound by what they accept to be correct and true, that's how they define reality. But what does it mean to be "correct" and "true"? Merely vague concepts, their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?
The Springtime of Youth
April 8, 2009As I was walking the street to buy some Kalabasa and Sitaw for the Pakbet I was going to cook for dinner, I can’t help but notice a group of youngsters hanging around some of the PC shops, merrily cursing their way to a double or triple kill. After haggling with the tindera, I continued on, and I saw a bunch of teenagers slouching around in what must’ve been their friend’s place, idly chatting, and drinking like there was no tomorrow. Perhaps, there really is, for them, that is. It’s sad that not all Filipino youth are proactive, quite frankly, however, I think this virus known as apathy and indifference is being held at bay now and I think the spirit of nationalism is being revived.
